Golden Days Parade

The girls, Steven and I went downtown to watch the Fairbanks Golden Days Parade. Every year Fairbanks puts on a week of entertainment to celebrate when gold was found in Alaska. This parade was very much a "small town" parade. No huge floats or anything off-the-wall exciting like David is used to, but it reminded me of my "small town" Georgia home parades. Unfortunately, the kids seemed to get bored pretty fast. Most of the "floats" were just advertisements for companies, but Steven's favorite part was the old cars and the firetrucks, the bunny rabbit and puppies and of course the little bit of candy that was handed out.
