Temple Trip

David and I had the opportunity to go to the Anchorage Temple as chaperones to the youth in our ward. (A wonderful friend offered to watch our kids!) We left Friday night at 11:30p.m for the 7 hour trip to Anchorage. We drove all night, switching out between other drivers and sleeping when we weren't driving, and got in Anchorage about 6: 30 a.m. on Saturday. It was a long night! We stopped at IHOP for breakfast, where the youth and leaders changed and got ready to go to the temple. (I took a nap in the van, while they went in and ate. I was too tired from driving the last 3 hours of the trip and not having much sleep before that).

The Anchorage Temple is very small, compared to most temples that we've been to. But still a gorgeous and peaceful place to be. Afterwards, we stopped at the bookstore and the mall and then headed back to Fairbanks. The view was awesome! We weren't able to see how beautiful it was in the night (plus it was raining), but were so grateful that the weather was nice for the drive back.
